Women's Tennis Loses Two

Louisville, Ky. - Southern Illinois (0-3) dropped a pair of matches last week losing to both Eastern Michigan, 5-0, and Louisville, 5-2. Both losses extended the Salukis' losing streak to three matches this spring.
SIU lost two singles matches and four doubles bouts en route to falling victim to its shutout against Eastern Michigan.
On the next day against Louisville, however, the Dawgs showed signs of improvement as Erika Ochoa defeated Melisa San Martin, 7-5, 6-1, in No. 1 singles and Alejandra defeated Kelly Kiehna, 7-5, 6-2 in the No. 2 spot.
SIU, who is playing with just four bodies this spring, will return to action next weekend when the Salukis head to both Arkansas State (3/1, 2 p.m.) and Harding University (3/2, 10 a.m.) for a pair of matches.
