Carbondale, Ill. - The women's tennis team struggled against Memphis on day two of the Saluki Invitational. After winning thirteen of fifteen matches on Friday, the SIU players were unable to win a singles match today as they went head-to-head with a tough Memphis team.
During doubles action, Kari Stark and Zoya Honarmand were able to pull out a win in number three doubles against Kristin Noble and Rebecca Garner of Memphis, 8-5.
The Salukis closed out the day as Alejandra Blanco and Maria Blanco beat Chicago State's Christina Vlase and Jessie Bates in number one doubles, 8-0. Also, SIU's Jessica Knitter and Zuzana Palovic defeated CSU's Colette Hurt and Dorina Guga in number two doubles, 8-1.
The women's tennis team will head to the University of Memphis Tournament on October 18-19.
