Men's Swimming And Diving Host First Meet This Weekend

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The men's swimming and diving team will begin the season at home this weekend as they face-off against Lincoln (Ill.) College on Saturday in a dual meet.

The Salukis hope for a good, solid swim meet that will allow the ten returning MVC champions or all-MVC performers to get back to competition level. Men's head coach Rick Walker will look to those athletes and his senior class this weekend for leadership.

"We've got some good experience and good leadership," said Walker. "I'll be counting on every one of the seniors for leadership. That's why we don't have captains, the senior class is our capatains and we're pretty solid all the way around the pool."

The dual meet, which begins at 12:00 p.m., will be held at the SIU Student Rec. Center Pool. Admission is free. Results can be found at www.SIUSalukis.com.
