Women's Tennis Loses To Illinois-Chicago

Chicago, Ill - The women's tennis team lost its third straight match, in as many days, on Sunday morning. The 2-5 loss against Illinois-Chicago brings the Salukis spring record to 0-3.
SIU was only able to pull out two singles wins in the non-conference match. Freshman Maria Blanco beat Ayca Gumuscu, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 2 singles , while junior Jessica Knitter notched her second win of the season by defeating Corey Stevens, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 3 singles.
SIU will return to action on Feb. 15 when the Salukis head to Louisville, Ky. for a double header against Louisville (9am) and David Lipscomb (2pm).
