Birchak Finishes Ninth in 3-Meter Dive at Regionals

HOUSTON, Texas - Freshman diver Brandon Birchak finished the 3-meter dive in ninth place at the NCAA Zone D Regional meet on Friday. Teammate Adam Peper, a senior at Southern Illinois University, registered 13th at the same meet.

Birchak , who won both the 1-meter and 3-meter dive titles at the Missouri Valley Championship Invitational, scored a 459.00 off the 3-meter board, while Peper finished with a mark of 405.95. The University of Texas had three divers finish in the top ten, while Texas A&M and SMU had two in the top ten.

Both Birchak and Peper will compete in the 1-meter dive Saturday morning. Results can be found at www.SIUSalukis.com.
