Women's Tennis Drops Two Matches in Memphis

MEMPHIS, TN. - The women's tennis team was handed two losses today as they lost to Murray State (6-1) and Arkansas Little-Rock (7-0) at Memphis.
In their opening match of the day against the Racers of Murray State the Dawgs just fell short of coming way with a victory. Senior Tana Trapani lost a hard fought match against MSU's Jaclyn Leeper at the No. 4 singles spot (5-7, 2-1 ret.) while fellow senior Jessica Knitter lost to Anna Lask (6-3, 6-3) at the No. 3 singles spot.
In their second match of the day the Dawgs bad luck continued senior Alejandra Blanco was defeated in three sets at the No. 1 singles spot by Cecelia Poveda. Also taking her match to three sets was junior Kari Stark who lost a tough match against UALR's Outi Jarvinen (4-6, 6-1, 6-0) at the No. 5 singles spot.
The Salukis will wrap up their three match weekend as they are scheduled to take on Memphis tomorrow afternoon.
