CARBONDALE, Ill. - The women's tennis team ended their regular season with an impressive 6-1 victory over Creighton today at the SIU Arena Tennis Courts. The Salukis improved to 11-11 on the year and 5-4 in Missouri Valley Conference play.
The Salukis picked up their second win of the weekend with today's win. Once again it was the entire SIU lineup contributed to the victory as the Dawgs took the doubles point along with the No.2- No.6 singles points. Seniors Jessica Knitter and Tana Trapani along with sophomore Maria Blanco all continued to play well as Blanco notched a win at the No. 2 spot with her win over Christy Roth and Knitter and Trapani posted wins at the No. 3 and No. 4 spots as Knitter defeated Kim Cavan and Trapani blanked Pam Gerik (6-0, 6-0).
After a solid season the Salukis will head into the MVC Tournament on April 23-25. All results for the MVC tournament can be found at www.SIUSalukis.com
