Trapani Named First Team All-MVC Scholar-Athlete

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Women's tennis senior sensation Tana Trapani was selected to the First Team All- MVC Scholar Team today, as senior Jessica Knitter and junior Kari Stark were named All-MVC Scholar honorable mentions.
Trapani, a senior out of Murphysboro, Ill., posted a 24-3 (10-0 MVC) record this year at the No. 4 singles spot for the Salukis and teamed up with fellow senior Alejandra Blanco to notch a 8-1 record in MVC doubles play, all while maintaining a very respectable 4.0 GPA in Accounting.
Senior Jessica Knitter and junior Kari Stark were named honorable mention All-MVC Scholar Athletes as Knitter maintained a 3.44 in aviation technologies while posting a 19-15 (10-4 MVC) record at the No. 3 spot for the Dawgs and Stark holds down a 3.9 GPA and majors in business marketing and posted a 4-4 record in MVC play at the No. 5 and No. 6 singles spot for SIU.
The All-MVC Scholar Team is comprised of 10 first-team selections and five honorable mentions and is voted on by the league's sports information directors.
