Women's Golf Signs Three

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University women's golf coach Diane Daugherty announced today that Katherine Laegeler, Christine Zoerlein and Josie Lowder will join the Salukis this fall.
Laegeler attended Eisenhower High School, where she registered three first-place finishes during her prep career. A native of Decatur, Ill., she was a Big 12 Scholar-Athlete, a FCWT Third Team All-American in 2002-03 and a four-year letterwinner. Kate's brother, Robert, finished up his junior season with the Saluki men's golf team last spring.
A native of St. Charles, Ill., Zoerlein joins the Dawgs from St. Charles North High School. As a prep, she finished seventh in the state and was named all-conference as a senior. Zoerlein also garnered first-place honors at her conference tournament and was a regional medalist and member of the all-area team her junior year.
Lowder transfers to SIU from the University of Alabama, where she registered a 82.9 stroke average in eight rounds a year ago. She attended Porta High School and is from Petersburg, Ill. While at Porta H.S., she won a state championship as a junior and finished sixth in the state as a senior. In addition, she was also a regional and sectional champ as a senior.
