PEORIA, Ill. - The Southern Illinois (12-9, 4-5 MVC) volleyball team hit .322 on the night, recording just 12 errors, in a sweep of Bradley (2-18, 1-8 MVC), 30-15, 30-15, 31-29, in Missouri Valley Conference play Saturday night in the Robertson Memorial Fieldhouse.
The Salukis were looking for their 12th win of the season. With the victory, they surpassed last season's win total (11), recording the most wins in a season since the 2002 (23) team.
SIU handled the Braves on their home court easily in games one and two, but had to push for the sweep as BU fought hard in game three pushing the final score past the 30-point barrier for SIU to win by two.
Marina Medic led the Saluki offense with 12 kills and four block assists. The sophomore hit .409 with just three errors in 22 attempts. Kelsie Laughlin chipped in 11 kills, a team-high 14 digs and five service aces.
Freshman Jasmine Conner stepped up after a big night Friday to hit a match-high .500 with nine kills and no errors in 18 attempts. She also put up a match-high six block assists.
Jennifer Berwanger narrowly missed a double-double with nine kills, 10 digs, while Brooklyn Robbins ran the Saluki offense with a match-high 42 assists, six digs and four block assists on the night.
Nikki Pierzchala led the Braves with 12 kills, while Sam Black record 34 assists. Kaitlyn Comiskey recorded a match-high 19 digs.
The Salukis return to action Thursday at Evansville, start time is 7 p.m.
