Ce, Cruise represent women's tennis at ITA Midwest Regional

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Two members of the Southern Illinois women's tennis team competed in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional Tournament this past weekend in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Sophomore Michela Cruise competed in singles and teamed up with Martina Vianna Ce in doubles.
Cruise lost her first round qualifying match to Molly Casperson of Butler, 2-6, 3-6. She played one match in the consolation round, defeating University of Cincinnati's Valeriya Dandik 0-6, 6-4, 10-8.
In doubles, Ce and Cruise won their first round in the main draw, 8-4, against Ashley Coulson and Stacy Lish of Indiana-Purdue at Fort Wayne. In the second round the duo fell to Depaul's Gergana Ganeva and Katrina Milinkovic 0-8.
The Salukis will wrap up their fall season on Friday, Oct. 26 at the Memphis Invitational in Memphis, Tenn.
