CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The Southeast Missouri State volleyball team recorded three double-doubles, hitting .261 on the night to take Southern Illinois in four games, 30-23, 26-30, 30-20, 32-30, at the Houck Fieldhouse Tuesday night.
Game four came down to the wire, as SIU (10-8, 3-4 MVC) pushed SEMO (10-10) past 30 points, making the Redhawks work for the final game.
Jennifer Berwanger led the Salukis with 14 kills and 12 digs, while Erika Bartruff pitched in 44 assists, 10 digs, two solo and two block assists.
Marina Medic and Chandra Roberson recorded 10 and 12 kills respectively, Roberson adding four block assists, and Medic two solo and one block assist.
The Saluki effort wasn't enough to overcome 22 kills and 18 digs from Karleigh DeLong. She also added five block assists, hitting .348 on the night. Helping DeLong along for the Redhawks was Claire Keaton (13 kills, 12 digs) and Aubrey Dondlinger (16 kills, 12 digs).
