MVC Individual Championship wrapped today in Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. - The Salukis wrapped up play in Omaha at the Missouri Valley Conference Individual Championship on Sunday. Weather played a factor in this weekend's Tournament, moving play inside and canceling Sunday's 3rd and 4th place matches.
Martina Vianna Ce defeated Evansville's Allie Cox 6-3, 6-0 to face Sarah Plowman of Drake in the second round winning the match 2-6, 6-4, 7-5. Ce advanced to the finals on Sunday where she played strong, but fell to Fadzai Masiyazi of Indiana State, 8-4.
Ce teamed up with Michela Cruise in number 2 doubles defeating Northern Iowa's Ashton Schwerin and Carolina Hannes 8-3, advancing to the second round. Ce and Cruise were down 1-6 to start out, but came back, eventually falling 6-8 to Fadzai Masiyazi and Sarah Meghouful of Indiana State.
"Overall we got to see our conference level, where we need to be for spring, and how far we have to go." said head coach Audra Nothwehr.
