Swimming and Diving receives Academic All-American honors

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Southern Illinois University swimming and diving team was named to the NCAA Division I Academic All-American Team, ranking No. 5 in the country.
The men and women Salukis have a combined grade point average of 3.350. Georgetown, Lafayette and Yale take the top three spots, while Dartmouth is ranked No. 1 with a team G.P.A of 3.580. George Washington University, Bucknell, Harvard, South Dakota State, and Southern Methodist round out the bottom half of the top-ten list.

The Salukis defeated Evansville Oct. 4 in their first meet of the season. They will be back in action Friday, Oct. 31 at home as they host New Orleans. The meet is scheduled to take place at the Rec Center pool with a 5 p.m. start.
