Swimming and Diving finishes fourth at Sun Belt Championships

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Southern Illinois University men's swimming and diving team finished in fourth place at the 2008 Sun Belt Championships.
Missouri State won the league title with 688 points. Denver finished in second place with 654 points, Western Kentucky placed third with 589 points, SIU (347) finished fourth, Florida Atlantic (121) placed fifth and Evansville (108) rounded out the championship scoring.
The Salukis turned in five top-10 finishes on the third day of the championships.
Alex Marrucho placed fourth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:48.58.
Dennis Hedo also took home a fourth-place finish with a time of 44.78 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle.
Jameson Kuper finished eighth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:04.88.
Antonio Santoro placed third in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:47.93.
Hedo, Anthony Bousquet, Gareth McGee and Santoro combined for a second-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:00.69.
