Women's Tennis signs one for fall

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Women's Tennis signed their final player for the 2008-09 season. Head coach Audra Nothwehr announced the signing of Vishakha Sheoran last week.
Sheoran is a sophomore transfer from New Dehli University. She held a career-high world ranking of #271 in ITF Juniors as well as #1189 in ITF Women's rankings. In India, Sheoran held a #8 national ranking in under 18's and a #22 national ranking in the women's division. During the summer of 2006, Sheoran won two ITF Junior tournaments in doubles, and was a four-time singles semifinalist in both 2005 and 2006. She also received a gold medal at the All Indian Tennis Association Inter State under 18 tournament."Vishakha comes to our program with a lot of tournament experience," said Nothwehr. "We expect her to help us out somewhere at the top of our lineup."
Sheoran will have four years of eligibility at Southern Illinois University, since she did not play tennis while attending New Dehli.
