Saluki women finish third at Bradley Classic

Peoria, Ill. - The Saluki women's cross country team was back in action on Friday as they placed third in the Bradley Classic.
Wisconsin (76) and Bradley (97) placed first and second respectively with the Salukis following closely behind with 119 points.
Megan Hoelscher took top honors for SIU with a sixth place 6K finish 21:52 of while Ryan Eichelberger came in 16th with a time of 22:20.
"We haven't gotten to race against a whole lot of conference opponents so it was nice to compete against some teams we haven't seen this year and the girls were looking forward to racing against some of the conference teams today," Head coach Matt Sparks said.
A'Seret Dokubo finished 18th with a time of 22:24 while Emily Toennies was 24th at 22:33.
As a team, the Salukis beat conference opponents Indiana State, Northern Iowa, Drake, Creighton, and Illinois State in their final meet before the Missouri Valley Conference Championships.
Other finishers for the Salukis included Toni Whitfield (56th, 23:21), Nefeteri Williams (57th, 23:22) and Jamie Pfister (89th 24:07).
The Saluki men will be in action tomorrow as they compete in Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind. beginning at 11:40 a.m. EST while the women will next compete in the MVC Championships on Oct. 31.
