Swimming and Diving earns post-season MVC honors

SAINT LOUIS - Twelve members of the Southern Illinois University women's swimming and diving team received all-conference honors at the 2009 State Farm/MVC Championships last weekend, while seven members were named to the scholar-athlete team.
Emily Duerringer, Kelly Dvorak, Samantha Dvorak, Emily Gable, Tovah Gasparovich, Keli Kramer, Isabel Madeira, Therese Mattsson, and Marcela Teixeira were named to the all-conference first team.
Salukis earning honorable mention nods were Kasey Fernandez, Kristin Geppert and Danielle Quarry.
Earning spots on the Valley's Scholar-Athlete team were Duerringer (3.89, psychology), K. Dvorak (3.78, communication disorders and sciences), Madeira (3.94, economics and finance), Mattsson (3.96, kinesiology), Karin Mullendore (3.66, Spanish), Quarry (3.13, social work), and Teixeira (3.89, business).
