Women's tennis drops match to Buffalo

Boca Raton, Fla.- The Southern Illinois women's tennis team dropped its match against Buffalo on Wednesday 4-3.
Head coach Audra Nothwehr said that while the Salukis didn't pick up many victories in singles, she was still happy about the overall performance.
"We played some really good tennis and this is the type of tennis we need to play to prepare for (Missouri Valley) conference play," Nothwehr said.
Fadzai Mawisire remained undefeated in her singles career at SIU as she defeated Buffalo's Denise Harijarto, 7-5, 6-7(4), 7-6(2) in No. 1 singles.
Michela Cruise picked up the other victory for the Salukis at No. 4 singles defeating Diana Tioa, 6-2,6-7(5),6-2.
"We played some good singles matches that could have gone either way," Nothwehr said. "Kudos to Fadzai and Michela on playing great matches today."
The Salukis also collected the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
The Salukis will wrap up their trip to Boca Raton, Fla. on Thursday when they face James Madison beginning at 10 a.m CT
