Carbondale, Ill-The Southern Illinois women's tennis team picked up their fifth victory in a row as they knocked off the University of Tennessee-Martin, 7-0.
The Salukis claimed all singles victories including Fadzai Mawisire at No. 1 singles and improved her overall record at SIU to 13-0.
Head coach Audra Nothwehr said sweeping a team like UT-Martin shows that the Salukis are playing the right tennis right before getting into the middle of the season.
"This match shows us that we are ready for Missouri Valley Conference play and we are excited to pick up this win today," Nothwehr said.
The Saluki also earned victories at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to claim the double's point.
Next up for the Salukis will be Tennesee Tech on April 1 in Cookeville, Tenn.
