Women's tennis defeats Wright State, 6-1

Carbondale, Ill.- The Southern Illinois women's tennis team collected their first home outdoor victory of the season as they defeated Wright State 6-1 at the University Courts.
Head coach Audra Nothwehr said that the Salukis remained focused and played strong in both singles and doubles.
"The team stayed focused and got it done," Nothwehr said. "I'm very proud of them. This should give us a boost going into a tough spring break schedule."
The Salukis swept doubles action with the duo of Ame Blacketer amd Fadzai Mawisire defeated Masha Peresetsky and Kenisha Webb, 8-1.
Mawisire also improved her career record at SIU to 14-0 in singles and doubles combined with the win in No. 1 dobules but again in No. 1 singles.
The Salukis will return to action on March 9 when they travel to Boca Raton, Fla. to play Florida Atlantic beginning at 12 p.m.
