Comeback Kids
The Salukis scored four unearned runs in the bottom of the eighth to earn their second-straight comeback win when they beat Illinois, 9-6, Wednesday. A day before that, Southern Illinois University scored two runs in the top of the 10th inning en route to a 4-2 win at Southeast Missouri State (4/14). The Dawgs have come-from- behind to win eight games this year.
Nice to Meet You
SIU and Indiana State meet for the 149th time Friday. SIU holds an 86-62 lead in the all-time series which began in 1960. The Salukis have played Indiana State and Illinois State (SIU leads, 78-70) the most out of all the Valley schools.
Callahan vs. the Sycamores
SIU is 28-24 against Indiana State under head coach Dan Callahan. That record includes a 14-13 mark in Terre Haute. The Salukis have posted four-straight series wins against the Sycamores. SIU registered series victories in each of its last two trips to Terre Haute (2005, 2007).
Keep it Going
SIU won seven of its last nine games against Indiana State. The Salukis swept ISU in 2006 (Carbondale) and won two of three in both 2007 (Terre Haute) and 2008 (Carbondale). The Dawgs are 16-9 against the Trees over the last seven years.
