Rohrer hired as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Saluki Athletics announced Monday the hiring of Dan Rohrer as its new Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. Rohrer has held the same title at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay since 2006.
At UWGB, Rohrer was a member of the department's senior staff, where he oversaw all aspects of NCAA compliance for the Phoenix. He also directly supervised the cross country program and the academic office.
"We are excited to have a person of Dan's caliber lead our compliance operation," said Southern Illinois University Director of Athletics Mario Moccia. "He has demonstrated in his career a comprehensive understanding of NCAA compliance issues, as well as exceptional attention to detail."
Rohrer is a 2003 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, where he majored in economics and political science. He earned a law degree, as well as a sports law certificate, from Marquette in 2006, and is a licensed member of the State Bar Association in Wisconsin.
Prior to working at UWGB, Rohrer practiced compliance and sports law as an intern with Marquette, the University of Wisconsin and law firm Peirski & Gray. He also held a communications and research position in the office of Wisconsin state senator Carol Roessler.
