Carevic and Ruszkowski finish day one of NCAA Zone Diving

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Saluki divers Kyle Carevic and Justin Ruszkowski competed in the NCAA Zone C Diving Regionals at Purdue University Friday afternoon, beginning with the 3-meter preliminaries.

Ruszkowski, a sophomore from Normal, Ill., finished 23rd out of 35 competing individuals with a score of 273.65.

In his last outing for Southern Illinois, Carevic, a senior from Orland Park, Ill., posted a score of 258.85 to finish in the 25th spot.

Purdue's David Boudia and JP Perez, Ohio State's Ryan Jefferson, and Miami's Cameron Horner were the four finalists in the 3-meter to punch their tickets to the national championships next weekend.

Both Carevic and Ruszkowski will participate in the 1-meter preliminaries Saturday starting at 1 p.m. ET.
