Women's Tennis thumps Bradley, 7-0

PEORIA, Ill. - The Southern Illinois women's tennis team extended their win streak to six Saturday in Peoria, Ill., with a 7-0 sweep of the Bradley Braves.
The six straight wins ties the record for the longest in the program's history since 2001.
"The girls played really solid today," said Saluki head coach Audra Nothwehr. "We had to deal with the wind, but we dealt with is nicely. It was the best we have ever played against Bradley and I think we are ready for Illinois State."
Melanie Delsart extended her singles winning streak to six matches in top singles by downing BU's Nicole Miller 6-1, 6-3. The freshman and senior Martina Vianna Ce also extended their doubles winning streak to four, as they defeated Miller and Emily Regenold, 8-1.
Fellow freshman Jennifer Dien also extended her singles streak to six matches with a 6-4, 6-2, win against Kelly Donohue.
The three Saluki seniors - Vianna Ce, Jessica Flannery, and Michela Cruise - combined to win three matches while only losing two games among them. Vianna Ce topped Jessica Buterbaugh 6-1, 6-1, in No. 4 singles. Meanwhile, Flannery swept Kennedy Scott 6-0, 6-0, while Cruise shut out Brigitte Graf 6-0, 6-0.
The other singles win for the Salukis came courtesy of Emily Whitney in No. 2 singles. The Prairie Village, Kan., native finished the day with a straight sets win over Emily Regenold 6-1, 7-5.
The Dawgs continue their trip to central Illinois tomorrow, when they face the Illinois State Redbirds in a 10 a.m. match.
