CARBONDALE, Ill.-Anastacia Simons and Anita Lee both went 2-0 in singles play to lead the Southern Illinois women's tennis team at its annual Fall Classic on Sunday.
In addition, the Salukis were 5-1 in doubles matches in a three-team field that also included regional foes Saint Louis and Eastern Illinois.
"I was really impressed by our doubles," said head coach Audra Nothwehr. "We were pretty solid, winning five of six, and losing a very close one. This is a lot of tennis in one day for us, but it gets us ready for the ITA Regionals coming up this week."
Jennifer Dien and Melanie Delsart both split their singles matches for SIU.
The Salukis will be back in action on Thursday, when they travel to Tulsa, Okla. for the ITAs.
