Ruszkowski competes at NCAA zone diving meet

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Southern Illinois junior diver Justin Ruszkowski traveled to the campus of Ohio State University this week to take part in the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships for the second consecutive season.
Ruszkowsi, a Normal, Ill. native, posted a combined score of 235.55 in the one-meter preliminaries Thursday to finish in 29th place in the field of 36 competitors.
David Boudia of Purdue (819.05 points), Greg Ferrucci of Kentucky (716.35 points) and Darian Schmidt of Indiana (704.80 points) claimed the top three spots to punch their tickets to the national championships March 24-26 at Minnesota.
Last year, Ruszkowski was joined by former teammate Kyle Carevic at the Zone C championships, where he finished 28th out of 34 at 231.30.
Ruszkowski will have the opportunity to fight for a spot at the national championship in the three-meter dive Friday.
