Kristin Geppert named Academic All-District

Southern Illinois University swimmer Kristin Geppert was named an at-large selection to the Academic All-District 5 First-Team, according to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Geppert defended her Missouri Valley Conference titles in both the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke last season, posting new personal best times in each event. She also qualified for the USA Swimming National Championships, competing in the 100 breast.

The Norderstedt, Germany native carries a 3.98 GPA and majors in English. The junior will advance to the national ballot where she could earn Academic All-American honors.

CoSIDA began the Academic All-America program in the 1950s, and since then, has honored thousands of deserving student-athletes from numerous sports and across all divisions. Currently, CoSIDA honors Academic All-Americans in 12 sports. The Academic All-America program is sponsored by Capital One.
