Saluki swimmer takes Bronze medal at World Swimming Championships

Saluki swimmer Csaba Gercsak won the bronze medal in the 25-kilometer distance swim at the 14th FINA World Swimming Championships in Shenghai, China on Saturday.
Gercsak, a sophomore at Southern Illinois University and a native of Budapest, Hungary, completed the race in 5:11:18.1, just 38 seconds behind the winner, Bulgaria's Petar Stoychev. Gerscsak also took 10th place in the 5k.
Four more Saluki swimmers are competing in the international event, including Mazen Aziz (open water), Pamela Benitez (pool), Seyi Williams (pool) and Juan Arbalaez (pool).
Aziz, a native of Egypt, has already helped his team place 14th in the Team 5K.
FINA is the world governing body for the five aquatic disciplines of swimming, diving, water polo, synchronized swimming and open-water swimming.
