Women's Tennis set to compete in Billiken Classic

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University women's tennis team will open the fall season at the Billiken Classic Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9-10, at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis.
The Salukis will compete against players from SIUE, UT-Martin, Morehead State and Saint Louis. Play begins at 9 a.m. each day, or 10:30 a.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday if weather forces the tournament to Kings Point indoors.
Two rounds of singles will be played Friday morning, with a round of doubles to follow a break. Saturday's action begins with a third round of singles in the morning and concludes with two rounds of doubles following a break.
The Salukis return No. 1 singles player Melanie Delsart from last year's squad that finished fifth in the Missouri Valley Conference, as well as Jennifer Dien, Anita Lee, Korey Love and Anastacia Simons.
