CARBONDALE, Ill. - The swimming and diving team will host Washington (Mo.) on Saturday at 12:30 in a dual meet at Dr. Edward J. Shea Natatorium. The meet is the first home meet of the spring for the men and the second home meet in a week for the women's team. Admission is free.
The women are coming off two consecutive wins in 2012. They opened 2012 with a win in the 8VA Copi Coqui Invite in Puerto Rico. They followed that up with a thrilling 151.5-147.5 upset win over Illinois on Monday. The men's team placed second in Puerto Rico, and this will be their first meet since then.
In their upset of Illinois in their last meet, the women were led by four individuals that won two events each. Kirsten Groome, Kristin Geppert, Isabela Castro and Pamela Benitez all won two events each to lead the Salukis to victory.
The men are led by senior Justin Wolfe, who has posted five victories on the season, including a 100-fly win at the Tennessee Invitational with a time of 47.92, a top-30 time in the NCAA this year.
