SKILLMAN, NJ - Southern Illinois women's tennis has been named an ITA All-Academic team for the 2011-12 season, marking the third-straight year the program has earned the award. To be recognized for this award a team must have a combined GPA of 3.25 or higher.
Six Saluki players earned ITA Scholar-Athlete awards, achieving a 3.5 GPA or higher -- Melanie Delsart (2010-12), Anita Lee (2011-12), Ariadna Cairo Baza, Gisela Cairo Baza, Siera Hasler and Natasha Tomishima.
"Being named an All-Academic team has become a standard for our program now, and we want this award every year," said head coach Audra Nothwehr. "We want to be balanced in the classroom, on the court, and to still have time for family and friends."
