Matt Vincent named Assistant AD for Compliance

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Saluki Athletics announced today the hiring of Matt Vincent as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. Vincent will monitor the recruiting process of athletes as well as academic performance and the APR (Academic Progress Rate) as it relates to eligibility and NCAA standards. In addition, his duties will include educating staff on rules and preparing and submitting all NCAA paperwork.
"I am exited about becoming a part of the great athletics program at Southern Illinois University," Vincent said. "I look forward to working with the coaches, staff, faculty and student-athletes in order to continue the great athletic tradition that Saluki Athletics has built."
Vincent spent the last three and a half years at the University of Mississippi where he was the assistant director of compliance. Prior to his time at Ole Miss, he worked one year in the compliance department at Central Michigan University.
Vincent earned a bachelor's in kinesiology from St. Mary's College of California where he also played football for three years. Following the elimination of the St. Mary's football program, he played one season at New Mexico State before returning to St. Mary's to finish his degree. Vincent earned his master's in sports administration from Southeast Missouri State and graduated with high honors. At Southeast Missouri State, he was a graduate assistant for the football team and a compliance intern.
He is a native of California, and he and his wife Erika are expecting their first child in June.
