Pallmann named MAC Swimmer of the Week

CARBONDALE, Ill.- Southern Illinois University swimmer Till Pallmann was named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Swimmer of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Hailing from Zweibrucken, Germany, Pallmann had a strong showing against Missouri State on Oct 11. Against the the defending MAC champions, he racked up three individual wins and was a member of the 200-yard freestyle relay team to win the event.
The junior was a dominant force for the Salukis. In the 50-yard freestyle, Pallmann cruised to a victory with a time of 20.76. Pallmann saw the same success in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing the race in a time of 45.78. His third individual win of the day came in the 200-yard freestyle, besting the field and winning the event with a time of 1:39.22.
Pallmann also found success in the 200-yard freestyle relay, as he helped his team to a win in the event. His team finished the race in a time of 1:24.78.
SIU will return to action on Nov. 1, when the team travels to Bloomington, Ill., to face Illinois State and the University of Illinois.
