CARBONDALE, Ill.- After a sweep in their season opener against the University of Evansville, the Southern Illinois swimming and diving teams host Missouri State at the Dr. Edward J. Shea Natatorium on Saturday. The meet is set for an 11 a.m. start time.
Till Pallmann will look to continue his hot start to the season after winning multiple events against the Purple Aces. In last year's meet against the Bears, Pallmann picked up two wins against his conference foes. Andre Brilhante was strong in his Saluki debut, racking up one individual win and two wins with the relay teams.
Kegan Skelton will lead the men's diving team into the competition on Saturday. Skelton put on a great performance against the Aces, winning both the one and three-meter dive.
Kaixuan `Sherry' Zhang and Esther Chen will lead the women's diving team against the Bears. Against Evansville, Zhang and Chen finished first and second respectively in the one and three-meter dive.
The women's swim team saw impressive efforts from several freshmen last week, and hope to see continued improvement from them. The freshmen trio of Nicole Fuller, Bryn Handley, and Kelsie Walker combined for four wins against the Aces.
The Salukis will have a long break before returning to action on Nov. 1, when SIU travels to Bloomington, Ill., for a meet against Illinois State and the University of Illinois
