SIU Swimming and Diving heads to Louisville Invite

CARBONDALE, Ill- In their last meet of the fall season, the Southern Illinois University swimming and diving team travels to Louisville, Ky., for the Louisville Invite. The meet begins on Friday and lasts through Sunday.
Kaixuan `Sherry' Zhang will look to continue her strong junior season in the one and three-meter dive. Zhang has won every event that she has competed in this year and has been named Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Diver of the Week four times.
Freshman Kelsie Walker will look to keep the momentum she built in her last outing against Kentucky, Missouri, and Northwestern. Walker earned a first-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle in the dual against Missouri. In the 500-yard freestyle, Walker picked up second-place finishes against all three schools. Her performance that weekend was recognized when she was named MVC Swimmer of the Week.
The men's swimming and diving team will be led by Till Pallmann and Kegan Skelton.
In the quad-dual on Nov. 7, Pallmann earned a pair of first-place finishes against Kentucky and Northwestern in the 100-yard freestyle, while also picking up wins against the two schools in the 200-yard IM.
Skelton was at the front for the Salukis in the one and three-meter dive. He took first overall in the one-meter five with a score of 394.05, while his score of 290.80 in the three-meter dive gave Skelton the first place-finish in the dual against Kentucky.
Results will be made available after each day of competition.
