Saluki Swimming and Diving wraps up day one of competition

LEXINGTON, Ky.- The Southern Illinois University swimming and diving teams wrapped up day one of their two-day competition in Lexington, Ky., on Friday.
Kaixuan 'Sherry' Zhang highlighted the day for the women's team, putting in another dominant performance in the one and three-meter dive. In the one-meter dive, Zhang earned a final score of 337.40 to defeat all competitors. Zhang put together a great performance in the three-meter dive, besting her competition with a score of 351.60. With her outstanding performance on Friday, Zhang has won every event she has competed in this season.
Till Pallmann led the men's swim team on day one, putting together strong performances in the 100-yard freestyle and the 200-yard IM. In the 100-yard freestyle, Pallmann finished the race in 45.43, easily besting his Kentucky and Northwestern opponents. The junior saw the same kind of success in the 200-yard IM, clocking in at 1:51.94 and leading SIU to a pair of wins in the event against UK and NU.
Kegan Skelton gave the men's diving team a boost, as the senior was impressive in the one and three-meter dive. His score of 394.05 led all competitors in the one-meter dive, while his final point total of 290.80 in the three-meter dive was enough to best UK's Levi Lindsey.
Day two of the competition wraps up tomorrow in Lexington, Ky. Results will once again be posted once they become available.
