Men's Swimming and Diving set for MAC Championship

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois men's swimming and diving team is set to travel to Buffalo, N.Y. for the MAC Championship.
The six-session meet starts Thursday with an 11 a.m. preliminary session, followed by a finals session at 7 p.m. Southern posted a fifth-place finish last year at the MAC Championship, which included several milestones.
Southern's men's program is in its fifth year as a member of the Mid-American Conference. In its inaugural year as a member of the conference, SIU finished fifth and has finished third in the seven-team conference in 2011 and 2012.
Southern went 2-1 against MAC competition in the regular season, posting two wins over Evansville and one loss to Missouri State. Ball State, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan and Miami (OH) will also compete in the Championship.
