Saluki Swimming and Diving hosts Maroon and White meet

CARBONDALE, Ill.- The Southern Illinois swimming and diving teams will be competing this Saturday in the Maroon and White meet.

The meet will be held at the Dr. Edward J. Shea Natatorium in the SIU Recreation Center. The meet is set for a 10 a.m. start time. The meet will give the teams a warm-up competition before opening up the season with the Saluki Miler and Saluki Open Water.

SIU returns several veterans, including diver Kaixuan "Sherry" Zhang and swimmer Till Pallmann. Zhang had an incredible 2013-14 season, taking first in the 1- and 3-meter dive at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships and taking third in the 3-meter at the NCAA Championships. Pallmann also had a strong 2013-14 season, winning both the 200- and 500-yard freestyle races at the MAC Championships.
