CARBONDALE, Ill.- Almost a week after sweeping their 2015 home opener, the Saluki swimming team returns to action on Sunday at the Butler Invite in Fishers, Ind. Southern will bring both the men's and women's team to the meet. Other schools competing include Ball State, Butler, Green Bay, Illinois State, IUPUI, St. Louis, and Xavier. The meet is set for an 11 a.m. start time.
The women's team knocked off Arkansas-Little Rock and Washington University in St. Louis last weekend, and will look to continue that momentum into this weekend. Freshman Bryn Handley was recognized for her winning performances in the 200-yard butterfly and the 1000-yard freestyle, when she was named Missouri Valley Conference Swimmer of the Week.
Till Pallmann and the men's team will get the opportunity to compete against a strong field on Sunday. Pallmann showed no rust from the winter break, winning the 50 and 100-yard freestyle races, while also helping his team win the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay.
The Salukis return to home action on Feb. 7, when the teams hosts Evansville.
