CARBONDALE, Ill. - Till Pallmann was rewarded for his performances at the Butler Invite, when he was named Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Week on Monday. This marks the second time this season that Pallmann has earned that honor.
Pallmann was a big factor in SIU's win at the Butler invite. The junior from Zweibrucken, Germany won two individual events, while helping the Salukis finish first in two relay events. In the 200-yard freestyle, Pallmann bested the field with his time of 1:38.92. He followed that with a win in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:30.39.
In the relay events, Pallmann was a crucial member that saw his team win the 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Pallmann and the rest of the Saluki swimming and diving team returns to action on Feb. 7, when the University of Evansville travels to Carbondale.
