I have always thought that adding flags to Saluki Stadium representing each MVFC school would be a nice addition and also show respect for the conference. What are your thoughts?
That is a good suggestion and something I will ask our facilities staff to look into and see how much it costs and what it would look like. Thank you for attending the games and for your input.
Is the Saluki Athletics YouTube channel something the video production staff will be utilizing more in the future now that most games are broadcast on ESPN3? Or does ESPN not allow schools to make highlight videos from their footage?
We are planning to completely overhaul our website in the next 6-9 months and our Youtube page will be prominently featured on the new site. Live broadcasts of games will remain with ESPN3, but Youtube will frequently be used for other live events (press conference for example) and on-demand videos.
I am a long-time hoops fan and have a great frustration in the ticketing process at the Arena. There is one window for ticket sales and you have to stand in the elements to accomplish that. I stopped by the Arena to purchase tickets for this year's games and left after realizing I was number two behind a fan purchasing multiple "six packs" for many of her friends and was going to take a considerable amount of time. I returned later, fed another parking meter, and as the sole person at the window, it took 27 minutes (measured on the parking meter) to buy a single ticket for the 17 remaining games of the season. What can be done to improve this area of customer service?
In addition to the SIU Arena ticket office (open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), we also have other ticket outlet options, such as the McLeod Theater ticket window in the Communications Building (Monday-Friday noon-4:30 p.m. when school is in session), online at SIUSalukis.com or by calling 877-Salukis during business hours. During the day, we sell tickets at SIU Arena through the window inside the lobby. Because of the layout of the office, the other available windows on game day do require the customer to stand outside when purchasing.
When selling mini-packages and single game tickets in our ticket system, it takes a bit of time when the customer wants to select a specific seat. When selling a full season or simply choosing the best available seat it is considerably faster. We do realize that our current system is perhaps not up to par with where we would like to be from a customer service standpoint and are in the process of researching other software options. We strive to provide the best customer service to all of our ticket patrons. Sometimes this means taking some extra time to walk them through the ticket purchasing process.
