SIU places eight on Academic All-MAC Team

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Eight members of the men's Saluki Swimming and Diving team were recognized by the Mid-American Conference for their excellence in the classroom, when they were named to the 2015 Academic All-MAC team on Friday.
Caleb Coots, Calvin Kolar, Till Pallmann, Andy Ross, Bobby Wood, Andres Saavedra, Shaun Wolfe, and Dusan Vukobrat were all recognized for the effort and time that they put into their academic studies.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport
"Our men continue to amaze me with their determination to academics, sport, and their commitment to community," said SIU head coach Rick Walker. "This is the recipe for the leaders of tomorrow and we are serving it up at SIU."
