Bryn Handley named CollegeSwimming.com Swimmer of the Week

SOMERS, Wisc. – Sophomore Bryn Handley has been selected by CollegeSwimming.com as Swimmer of the Week in the Missouri Valley Conference. This recognition, not affiliated with the conference itself, comes after Handley opened the 2016 spring season last weekend swimming as an individual at the Arena Pro Swim Series in Austin, Texas.
Following a month-long break from competition after competing at the AT&T Winter National Championships in December, Handley swam in the 200, 400 and 800-yard freestyle races at the long course meet last weekend. Handley's best finish of the meet came in the 800-yard freestyle race where she finished 7th with a personal-best time of 8:53.16. Handley also finished the meet in 20th place in the 200-yard freestyle, coming in at 2:06.55 and 11th in the 400-yard freestyle at 4:23.42.
This is the fourth time this season Handley has been recognized for her accomplishments in the pool. CollegeSwimming.com and Team Unify select conference swimmers of the week each week, and are not affiliated with any conference.
