Southern Illinois travels to Missouri State on Saturday, October 29, for a 2 p.m. kickoff in Plaster Stadium.
SIU has won four of the last five games against Missouri State, including two-straight road wins in 2012 and 2014. The Salukis have won 11 of the last 13 games between the programs dating back to 2003.
Chase Allen is five tackles away from 300 in his career. He will become the 14th player in program history with 300 career tackles and first since Brandin Jordan, who had 370 tackles from 2006-09.
Since 2000, only Jordan, Alexis Moreland (2001-04), Bart Scott (1998-2001), and Royal Whitaker (2002-05) have recorded 300 tackles in a career.
In last year's game vs. Missouri State, SIU set an MVFC record for points in a league game (73). SIU scored 10 touchdowns in 15 possessions.
SIU is among the youngest teams in the league. Of the 44 players listed on this week's offensive and defensive 2-deep, only nine are seniors. Only six of the 22 projected starters are seniors.

SALUKIS ARE AT MISSOURI STATE

Southern Illinois hits the road for a game at Missouri State on Saturday, October 29. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. CT and the game will be broadcast nationally through ESPN3.
SIU leads the all-time series with Missouri State, 19-18, and has won two in a row.
The Salukis have won four out of the last five games against Missouri State, and 11 of the last 13 dating back to 2003.
The Salukis have also won two-straight games in Springfield, Mo., and five of the last six road games in the series.
SIU won last year's game against the Bears 73-26. SIU scored 10 touchdowns and set an MVFC record for points scored in a league game.
The last time SIU and MSU met in Springfield, the Salukis pulled out a 32-22 win. Then-freshman running back Cameron Walter carried the ball 37 times for 210 yards, earning National Freshman of the Week honors after the win.

YOUTH MOVEMENT

SIU is among the youngest teams in the nation.

Only six of the projected 22 starters are seniors.
SIU has played seven true freshman this year and started five of them. In SIU's last gave vs. Indiana State, the Salukis started three true freshmen on defense (DT Blake Parzych, S Jeremy Chinn and CB James Ceasar).

Six of SIU's eight losses in 2015 were by six points or fewer. Five of the eight losses were by three points or fewer.
Both marks were the second-most close losses in MVFC history. Only Eastern Illinois in 1991 lost more games by three points or fewer than the Salukis did last season.
Since the start of the 2015 season, 10 of Southern's 13 losses have been by only one possession.
Since the start of 2015, SIU is 3-3 in games decided by more than one possession. The Salukis are 2-10 in one-possession games.
