SIU to face McKendree in weekday matchup

EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. – The men's and women's swimming and diving team will head north for a weekday matchup today to face off with McKendree University. Today will mark the first weekday matchup of the young season, and it is the only one they have on their schedule.
This will be the first meet for the men since October 1, where they went head to head with Evansville in a relays only meet. Because that's the only competition they have had thus far, that also means this will be the first time the men's team will be competing in individual events this season.
Nobody on the current roster for either the men or the women have faced off against MU in their careers as a Saluki. This will be the second competition MU will have had in the past week and the third time they have been in action this season. The Bearcats squared off with Saint Louis University last Saturday and lost, 57-126.
The entire men's team will be going to compete tonight and the women's team will be sending athletes that did not participate in the three-way dual against Illinois and Illinois State over the weekend.
The meet is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. and will take place at the Chuck Fruit Aquatic Center inside of Edwardsville High School.
