CLEVELAND, Ohio – In the final week of the men's swimming and diving season, freshman Nolan Fahey has been named MAC Swimmer of the Week. This is the third time a Saluki swimmer has earned MAC weekly accolades.
At the conclusion of his debut season, Nolan Fahey finished the University of Georgia Bulldog Invitational with three personal best times and the highest finish of the weekend for the Salukis. Fahey knocked off more than 20 seconds in his 500-yard freestyle swim, finishing the A Final in fifth place at 4:38.47. His prelim time, 4:35.93, is a new personal best, after coming into the meet with a 4:58.23 mark as his fastest time.
The same was true for his performances in the 200-yard freestyle and backstroke races as Fahey dropped 15 seconds in the freestyle and six seconds in backstroke. Fahey competed in five meets this season, and swam in nine different events.
Fahey and four other Saluki swimmers finished the 2015-16 season at last weekend's meet, while the remainder of the Saluki men's team will compete in the MAC Championships at Eastern Michigan beginning on Wednesday.
