CARBONDALE, ILL. - The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the Fall 2016 Scholar All-America teams, Wednesday. Southern Illinois University found both its men's and women's team inside the top-ten for highest GPA. The women's squad came in tied for fifth, with a GPA of 3.65, only .04 away from grabbing the top spot in the nation. The men's team sported a 3.36 GPA, which put them in a tie for tenth best in the country.Â
The women's team had 28 Salukis that finished the 2016 fall semester with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Of those 28, eight of them had a perfect 4.0 GPA.
