Beibei Ji named MVC Diver of the Week

Saluki sophomore diver Beibei Ji earned the Missouri Valley Conference's Diver of the Week Award for her achievements at the Purdue Invite against nationally ranked opponents on Nov. 16-18.

Ji reached the finals of both events and was the only Saluki diver to do so at the meet. In the women's three-meter dive on Thursday, Ji finished seventh with a score of 277.35. She finished ahead of all of the divers from North Carolina as well as a diver from Virginia Tech. In the one-meter dive, Ji finished ninth with a score of 250.05 to outperform two divers from North Carolina.

This is the second time this year that Ji has earned the honor and the fourth time a women's diver had been named MVC Diver of the Week. Beibei's twin-sister, Baobao Ji, also earned the award twice this year. In total, Saluki divers have won six Diver of the Week awards from their respective conferences; Sophomore men's diver, Eli Mercado, earned the Mid-American Conference's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week twice this season.
