Wolfe named MAC Swim and Dive Athlete of the Week

Saluki senior swimmer, Michael Wolfe earned the Mid-American Conference's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week award today for his accomplishments in the Salukis meet against Missouri, Northwestern and Kentucky on Friday and Saturday.

Wolfe swam the men's 500-freestyle in a time of 4:35.81 to post the best time in the MAC this season while logging a sixth place finish in the race. He also took home a sixth place result in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:31.46, the third fastest time in the MAC this season. He was also 11^th in the 200-yard freestyle.

Wolfe swam in just his second meet of the season over the weekend after missing the Salukis first three due to injury. This is the first time of his career that he has earned the award and the third time this season that a Saluki has been named the MAC Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week. Sophomore diver Eli Mercado earned the title twice earlier this year.
